They are imported from Brampton. That's why the destination charge is $1300. Diesel fuel isn't cheap.

You should be able to go to the factory and pick it up to save that cost.
I've seen alot of Challengers lately. I saw a concept version with the shaker hood.

With GM at least, I don't think that the factory pickup saves that money any more. I believe that changed a number of years ago. Not sure about the other guys...

Hey Carl, how about the Impala SS at the neighbour's place. Did you not go for it?

I had a good look at a couple Challengers in early August sitting on the lot at the Collingwood dealer..
There's been one sitting out front of the dealership across the street from me here at work for the past month or more too..
I've also seen a few on carriers but the crazy thing is I've yet to see one driving around!.
Although I like them, personally I feel they're too tall looking..

I hope the Camaro is lower and sleeker looking...if they ever do appear that is!.

I've seen a few driving around, various colours. The thing that got me was how quiet i heard one of them idling, i didn't hear much rumble.

Car and Driver tested a new Camaro in this months edition. A 300hp V6 version. The one likely to be the seller.
They say it has the potential to be a real winner. Lighter, better balanced and far more sport oriented than the bulked up Challenger.
Don't get me wrong, the Challenger is one awsome muscle piece, and at first I hated the new Camaro. Thought it looked too cartoonish. Despised it.
But the production version of the Camaro is starting to grow on me. It looks better everytime I read an article or see a group of photos of it. I'm now beginning to see the tribute to the 67-69' coming through.
I wonder why now?
Anyone else seeing anything good in the new Camaro?
I could see myself in one, It'd be a fun car I think, even with a V6.

Autoblog is reporting 6000 Camaro's have already been ordered and 84% are V8's.

thant sounds about right    the first cars will be ordered by baby boomers wanting to re-live the 67-69 period..  They need orders for 100,000 V6's to pay the bills..   I think the car looks like the future, not the past?   Give me a loaded 05 Mustang

Challengers are not selling as well as expected. Local dealer still has 08 SRT unsold. Base cars can be had for under $29,000 G. All the wannabe's on Moparts who said they would buy one turned out to be mostly flakes.
I still have my 06 Charger Daytona and wouldn't mind trading it in, but too much money still owing for now. As the economic outlook is bleak I doubt they will start selling soon.

I've been trying to order a new Challenger for a couple of months. I want one in Blue. They have a spring edition coming out in B5 blue but one knows about it.

Thought about the Camaro but Gm in their infinite wisdom will not make a blue SS?!

The local dealer is greedy and wants how much over sticker for that Challenger?

Isn't it illegal for a dealer to charge over sticker in Canada and why many short supply models get cleaned out of our market by the Americans?.
confused

It was a year ago, that they wanted a "service charge" over list.. That was when, they thought they would only get 1- 6.1 car     I should drop in, and see what they want, for their 5.7 Hemi orange car, like the one, I saw in Mitchell yesterday..

This is what I was led to beieve as well. Apparently there are a couple of ways around this:
1) It seems to be legal if the amount over MSRP is stipulated on the sales contract and the buyer acknowledges/accepts the amount by signing a clause explaining that he/she is aware of the extra markup being charged and agrees to pay it.
2) The dealer puts the car into service with an ownership and sells it as a used car.

Remember the Shelby cars, on e-bay last year?  you bid to 20,000 or so and if you won, you got to order one, or buy one, for sticker price... Will be the same way, IF GM ever gets the Camaro coming..    They will be disappointed,to roll it out, in a Recession or Depression...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, GM is going to try and launch this car into the "perfect storm" automotively speaking.   Carl is absolutely right, they need to sell at least 100,000 V6 units annually to break even.  Once the baby boomers on the verge of becoming senior citizens get their mid-life crisis SS model ordered, I predict V8 sales will fall flat on their face.  I hate to say it but we are heading into a full blown recession.  Does anyone think the stock markets, the housing market, the availablity of credit, the stability of the US financial system will all be cured by next March when this car hits the market?  Who knows if GM will even still be around in its current form at that time?  So much of this could have been prevented if GM had launched the car a year ago into a robust market which they were perfectly capable of doing if management hadn't dilly dallied so much.  That would have established a good sales base, now they are going to be launching a sports car in the middle of winter, both seasonally speaking and economically speaking.  This is not the kind of car one buys during a recession when probably half the US population is wondering whether they are under water with respect to their house value.
