Pilgrimage to Mecca

Today after the swap meet I dropped by Todd's place, otherwise known as Canadian Poncho World Headquarters, for a visit.  Wow, I felt empowered just being there!  And, I got to see the haunted clock, but no paranormal experiences.doh
Todd took me out to his shop to see the 69, that is a very solid car.  He fired it up for me and that Waldron exhaust with the 350 sounds better than my 454 with Walker Dynomaxes.  Hmm, a muffler change may be in order for next spring.  I saw the "427" awaiting transplant, it was snuggled right up to the nose of the 69 almost looking like it wanted to jump right in!  We talked about activities for next year, a good one might be a whole bunch of us going in a convoy to Plunkett's show and setting up a Canadian Poncho display with banner, etc. to show the world who we are.  Everyone would have to wear a CP shirt and have the decal displayed on their window - hint, hint, hint.wink

That's a great idea. I wish you guys would follow that thought!!!

Yes, Hillar found the world HQ of Canadian Poncho. It wasn't hard to miss with the large neon sign, the 400ft tower and 25ft satellite dishes transmitting Canadian Ponchoness to the world! Ok, there's no sign, tower or satellite dishes. Just a laptop...
Great to meet you Hillar and chew the fat about our cars!

Sure wish I was closer that would be pretty cool . Hay all you Manitoba guys and girls maybe we should start now and make plans to do a similar thing in the Peg . I know its a little early but if we leave it till next summer to make plans it will never happen. Also it would be more worthwhile to make a banner for 2 events.

I had visions on a lesser scale. I was thinking this afternoon (while I was at work, of course!) that we should try for a CP evening coffee break. We (beaumontwagon, beaumontguru, ak67sd, fake68) and myself (sorry if there is others I've forgotten) have run into each other at cruise nights and some of us have talked abou a coffee night at Tim's sometime.

Should we start a new Manitoba thread and see if we can swing this?

Actually this is a good idea.  On a number of other boards I am on, there are regional sub-forums that facilitate getting together members who are located relatively close to one another.  It seems a Winnipeg one would be a good idea, a S-W Ontario one, a GTA one, a Calgary one, etc.  These would help newer members (who we plan to have a lot of!) identify other members who live close by and suggest get togethers.  Let's face it, we are now starting the season where car events are few and far between and a Tim's or wing night might be the only opportunity to get together.  What about it Todd?

I don't have a problem with it. We have:

SW Ontario

GTA

Calgary

Winnipeg

How about a French speaking forum? I really need to advertise the site more in Quebec. Anyone on here write fluent French? I could post a French Kijiji ad.

Who else? Do we group the east coaster together? What about U.S and rest of the world members?

Have to start somwhere. GTA already had our first outing of the post cruise season. Hillar got us Leaf tickets and we had dinner at the Hot Stove Club, watched the Leafs and Canes and chewed the fat on that Jay Leno 63 LeMans drag car. smile
