21st Century RHD GTO

This morning I spotted a newer GTO (don't know how to tell the 21st century cars apart), but it was Right Hand Drive.  Not sure if all the GTO's were LHD, or if someone badged a Holden Monaro or what.  Any ideas?

Also, what's the deal with licensing a 21st century GTO in Canada?  Initially they couldn't be licensed because of our 10mph bumper law, has that been relaxed, or did they improve the bumpers?

Someone must have imported an "original" Holden Monaro; guess they didn't want the "rebadged" GTO version. wink

They relaxed the bumper rule this past summer, it was brought about by a desire to harmonize our rules with those of the US, the main one being Canadian cars were going torequire a specific type of imobilizer system that the US spec cars didn't have and many of the manufacturers were starting to rebel against all the Canada specific only requirements.  Finally the government doing something sensible with respect to automobile regulation.smile

I was driving beside it, so it was definately Right Hand Drive, and it definately had GTO badging.  Not sure about out east, but it's VERY popular out west for used RHD cars to be imported from Japan.  My bosses son has 2 RHD Skylines (I think they're a Nissan product).  Maybe someone imported a Monaro from Japan?  I've only seen a few of the newer GTO's, so I don't know if the one this morning was a real GTO, or a Monaro with a few badges.  I would have presumed as the GTO was only available in limited numbers, ALL of them were LHD and sent to the USA for sale.  Can anyone confirm or deny?
