hey todd the reflection on your car looks pin straight very nice!!!!
Thanks. The original owners son had the car stripped to bare metal in 1978 and repainted. The car went into storage, came out once or twice in 1985 and then back in storage until last year. The paint isn't bad for it's age. It has had a couple of touch ups due to the laquer cracking and flaking off in a few spots. I hope to nurse it along for a couple more years and hopefully have it stripped to bare metal again and repainted.
I emailed the son of the original owner and he couldn't remember what happened to the rims.
Todd
The car had wire hub caps on it and Mark bragged that there were Magnum 500's under there-thats sort of why I paid the full price for the car-they were bought new by his Dad in 1973 over the counter so no codes-I advertised them till the cows came home @ $550 finally sold them for $400 after I bought a set of caps for them ! I also bought a super clean set of Corvette rallys from Mark a week after the car-I mean really clean on a 76 Corvette for 4 summers and no rain ! orig rings and caps-cherry it took weeks to sell them too @ $500
they were on the car so long the tires were almost part of the rim-they chewed the beads of the tires all the way around to get them off-it cost me $80 ! then I paid $40 for caps, a couple postings on e-bay, ya probably should had left them on-the rims I put on the car were three from the 67 SD beaumont (silver) and one from the 60 Chev
It looks way better with the rallys-I was going to add rallys but thought it to just be a selling feature with no actual cash value-I had done up a set of 14 x 7 with P225/70R14's, new trim rings and Canadian Pontiac caps which you now have.
I wondered what the story was about the steel wheels. I couldn't understand why Mark would have gone with the wire wheel covers. 59poncho has those steel wheels now and the wheel covers are in BC.

The wire wheel covers were on it when I got it covering the Magnum 500's-the original caps I sent you were only on the car until 73 when the Magnums went on it-I'm not sure why or when the wires went on it-one of those steel wheels was a spare in my 60 Chev-the blue one pretty correct for that 59 !
