Great find Todd!
I remember the song, I'd every now and I'd hear it ring in my head, but I never knew where it came from or where I heard it. Amazing how some little ditty like that stays with you. I would have been 8 years old when it came out.

I've seen that at some of the POCI conventions. Some of those old ads are so cool. Somehow they seem so hokey by todays standards!

I remember that "Wide Trackin Pontiac" jingle as well. I remember it on TV (but maybe with different cars), and I also remember hearing it on CFRB radio in Toronto (yes, on a Canadian radio station, how ironic!). They used that jingle into the 1970s.

I remember a local ad for the 1972 Lemans. Nancy Green was filmed with a 1972 Lemans on the Ontario Science Center grounds. She ended up by saying "but you can't have this one, It's mine!" I guess Nancy Green owned a '72 Lemans. If you don't know who Nancy Green was, she was an Olympic skier who represented Canada in the Olympics (I don't know, was it in '68?).

I remember a 1969 Chevy ad done to a Calypso song with modified words: "Day, after day, more people drive Chevrolet..." with a bunch of different '69s. The only one I clearly remember from it though was a clip of a couple riding on a hay wagon, turning to watch a '69 Z28 pull out and blast past them.

Thanks for posting!

Great find Todd.  I have that commercial and many others from the late 60's and early 70's along with some Pontiac promotional tapes for the sales people on VHS.  Got them about 15 years ago through Hemmings.  We need to rent a drive-in theatre and all show up in our Pontiacs and have them played on the big screen!biggrin
