Oil Filter Conversion

Does anyone make a conversion kit to add an Oil Filter to a 1950 flathead six

Now that the garage is built, and the lift installed, will get the 1950 fleetleader special in for the start of its restoration, before christmas, that way I can spend some quality time over the holidays, List of things to do,
1. Move all parts out of house into garage
2. install new gas tank and fuel lines
3. Install battery and try to start
4. scrape all dirt and grease from motor and oil pan, transmission etc
5. change oil ( can we still buy single grade oil from farm supply companies)
6. strip of old rusty exhaust sysyem and replace
7. rebuild brake system completely
8. start redoing the interior that means everything seats ,doorpanels, etc

hopefully have it back on the road for next summer

There is a spin on filter adapter that straps around the manifold on a 6cyl.  Then accepts a common oil filter.
I have one, see pic.
Let me know if it is of interest.
I also have a early 50s chevy canister filter too.  would be correct for a early chevy 6cyl(stock).  if interested?
I can take more pics too.

That is exactly what my cansiter style one looks like.  Both styles plumb in the same way.  Just pick up 2 oil lines, such as having them made up at Princess Auto or someplace like that.
The spin on one takes a normal spin on filter, i think it uses a ford PH5 or one like that.

Pressure "in" taps off the oil pressure switch.  Return "out" is a fitting on the side of the block, to reurn oil to the crankcase.

The reason for the questions is because the straight 6 on the canadian built ones did not have a filter system installed but inside pan was a separator of some sort that kept the oil clean, the particulate and dirt supposedly stayed and were not recycled through with the oils, My motor probably has not been running for 20 plus year and I have no doubt that the oil pan is just full of crap. so I would like something that I change that would remove the crud and other nasties, there is also no plumbing or tubing evident in the motor to indicate the best place to tie it in. Are these systems stll available

Bill, there should be lots of cars in your area that will have one of these on there! Also, I am sure your engine must have a couple of fittings you can tie into? Such as your oil pressure gauge line and another oil gallery line tap??  I don't have one of these mills here to compare with yours but if you still have trouble, I can go to the wrecker here and have a peek for you!!!

I would sell the one i pictured above.  You would just need to have some lines made.
I also have the t-fitting for the oil pressure i would include.
PM if interested
