You honoured a class act last night in Trevor Linden and today you sign another class player. Good luck to Matts. Just another reason for a Torontonian to root for the Canucks !

It's only for the remainder of the season. The Canucks are hoping for a playoff run with Sundin leading the team.

One thing about Sundin that you may not know is just how tough this guy is, sure he can score but he's one tough guy to handle when he's breaking to the net. He had to play against every team's top line and top defensemen and he still manages to fill the net. He is also one of the best playmakers you will see, probably sets up as many as he buries. With some decent wingmen, and the Canucks have them he will do very well for you.

I think we're playing the Leafs Feb 28. That will be a great game. I think the twins will play with Sundin

I heard Demitra and Raymond initially. Sedins are 2/3 of a 2nd line at best.

Did anyone see the Sundin interview with Ron MacLean on HNIC tonight.

For sure he showed a lot of class but that is not the same Sundin we know in Toronto. He was in my opinion very bitter. I guess we will never know what went down but I mean he could be wearing a Stanley Cup ring today because the Red Wings wanted him last year. He must have really wanted to screw the Leafs. Seems kind of sad in the end Lose Lose situation.

Don Cherry made a few good points about thim too in as much as last year he refused to be a "Rental Player" but now that is exactly what he is.

Mike Milbury went on to say that big names like Selanne and Niedermayer came back half way through last season and basically failed to be a factor.

I guess Canucks management feels the team is a Cup contender, by the looks of tonights game so are the Blackhawks.

Chicago dusts off the Canucks on HNIC, that's two losses in a row on Saturday night.

A point of interest, there is not one European or Russian player on the Blackhawks, not one. OK one Czech.

I think Sundin really tarnished his reputation in Toronto with the way he handled himself at the end of last season.  All that talk about wanting to finish his career in Toronto, he was a true blue Leaf, etc., was all BS.  He could have easily allowed a trade and maybe gotten himself a ring, heck, with the Red Wings he would have done way less travelling than he now will be doing with the Canucks and could have helped the Leafs in their rebuilding by getting some draft picks or prospects.  He said he wasn't going to come back "just for the money" but only if he had a chance to win.  Well, no offence Canuck fans, Sundin is not going to put you over the top and the Canucks are not going to win the Cup this year, but Mats will make as much money in a half season playing with the Canucks as he did playing all of last year for the Leafs.  So much for integrity.  Mats will be regarded as a very accomplished player in Leaf history, but not a great one.  He will never be regarded in the same league as Gilmour or Clark, who gave their heart and souls to the Leafs....
