Very, very cool.

Did they ever have promo models from the dealer in the Beaumont line?

Did anyone notice that there is no such thing as a "custom" 2dr post sedan?  Pobably just an oversite buy the builderbiggrin

These are pretty cool  conversions.  I have seen the modelhaus kit with the resin cast grill, taillights, and photo etched parts.  neat stuff.
you would need the resinkit, a 69 chevelle model kit, and a GTO kit(for the dash).  So it is a bit pricey even to buy the supplies to build it.  Never mind the time and paints, etc.
Very nicely done.

Here is a pic of a 1/25 67 SD i built a few years back.  All scratch built plastic trim, grill, emblems, stripes, plumbing, etc.VERY time consuming, let me tell you!

Hi Beaumont guru.  That's a beautiful model of a '67 SD. Do you know if there is any die cast models of 1967 Beaumont SD available anywhere ? I've been looking for one for a long time. I've been told they have never been built. I find that hard to believe but there are none around, that I can find. Can anyone helpme in the search ?

I have never seen any promos, plastic kits, or diecast of any Canadian Poncho.  The only toy I have ever seen based on a Canadian Poncho is a burgundy 1/32 scale Dinky model of a 68 Parisienne four door sedan.  It had retractable dual rear antennas, not correct for the year but still cool.

Beaumontguru great work putting that car together. I used to build models, it's been a while and my paint never turned out the way i wanted. I just used the old Testor's spray cans, never had an airbrush. I never even tried to do a conversion from resin or a kit bash of any kind. I'd like to try to re-create the 66 Beaumont Custom conv. my father in law has. I'm glad my car is easier to do and pretty much box stock. Sometime i'd like to get back into kits. I've got the model for my car...might need to find another one i built up for a few oddball pieces. Again, great car beaumontguru! What all did you use to build it as far as kit sources.

I used a Revell 67 chevelle SS kit for the base.  Then a 66 GTO dash.  Everything "beaumont" related was from strips of plastic.

I always say I'll get back into models when I retire but I'll likely be blind, shaky and full of dementia.

Certainly a pleasant thought when I contemplate winding down in the next 10 years!!!

I have a pretty good bomb shelter here too. Our concrete cistern is no longer in use...

No, but it can't hurt to be prepared for any disaster-be it power outage or tornado etc. Once thing I've learned from Katrina is never rely on your government to look after you after a disaster.
How did we get on this topic anyway? Oh yeah-dementia.. Back to the model discussion..

Take it from me(who has built a lot of detailed models)
Even at that price he is at about 2 cents/ hour.
Not to mention the cost of 2 model kits (15 each), resin/photoetched stuff(20 bucks), paint, foil, glue, etc, etc.
Would have a good solid $50+ in parts, not to mention time.

Still, any higher and that is a pretty high price as far as built models go on Ebay.

So Dave, how much to build another one like that in Granada gold top and bottom? I am sure you'd have a buyer....wink
