Would your car survive a nuclear blast?

The cars in the photos below were part of the American Military's "Operation Doorstep" project. This project was initiated to determine the effects of a nuclear bomb's effect on people and property. This pamphlet explained how your car made a nifty little fallout shelter..Yeah right..disbelief

I wonder what became of these cars?

I can imagine the lack of protection for the people involved in the testing too! Likely some lame little mask like the guy is wearing, a handshake and a "good luck".

My car would be toast, if not from the blast itself i'm sure the electonics would be shot!
That one car would have survived except for the fact that it broke that buildings fall.
Other than that, i wouldn't have wanted the Jeepster, everything else...pretty much...knock out some dents, replace a few windows and off you go! Gotta love good ol' American steel!
Oh yeah, have to do something about that darned radiation too!
