New Years Eve plans?

What's everyone doing to celebrate the New Year? We are staying home. We rented a movie and then we'll watch one of those "ring in the new year" shows on TV. The best part is the food we'll be eating tonight.

Dinner is Cajun Catfish around 6

Then, around 11 we'll bring out the feast:

Crab Legs

Shrimp

Nachos with ground beef, salsa, sour creme, hot peppers etc

Garlic Bread with Cheese

Other assorted cheeses and dips with different crackers and chips

Spring Rolls

etc etc

I can't wait!

Todd

It's a stay home New Years for us too. My wife likes to stay close to home when one of the flock is out of town and Jr. is down in Ottawa taking in the Jr. games. He's been to every Team Canada game so far and today they were going to do a double header, Sweden vs. Russia followed by Canada vs. USA. I'll watch the game too. Girls are getting ready and will be heading out to parties soon so I'll do some driving, roads not too bad after early morning snow. Saw a cheese ball under construction and a shrimp platter being put together so I won't go hungry, lots of wine and a bottle of Champagne too, Mary said something about watching "Walk the Line", which is ok with me too.

At least Jr. has the right jersey to wear tonight !

1 bag no fat Maynards wine gums
1 bottle Barolo
Barrett Jackson on TV
30 pages left to read Dick Francis "Silks"
Should be asleep by 9:30

I just clicked through the channels and found

Watching B-J re-runs     It reminds me, how they tick me off, when they call a 50-100,00 car a 'driver"    and the over-restored comments..disbelief Who died and made them "experts" biggrin

Tonight we did "Tom's House of Pizza" for dinner, followed up by Peanut Buster Parfait's at DQ (love those coupon books).  Had 1 eye on the Canada vs USA hockey game, and now Flames vs Oilers, and I've been poking around on the computer.  Adolf (as I call her, from WWII fame) is planning on when we can start renovating the basement.

Re World Juniors, I ran a satellite truck for a number of years, and one of the hi-lites was the '90/'91 tournament in Saskatoon.  Lindros was star for Canada, Pavel Bure was star for USSR.  I made a ton in overtime, and even ran the video switcher one night covering Finland / USSR doing live inserts into TSN's NHL game.  For New Years Eve, I was with TSN's french RDS announcers at a Japanese restaurant in Saskatoon, doing my best with my 42% Grade 9 French.  Fortunately everyone spoke english except the cook.

Re the "Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders - Making the Team 3", Jordan from NM was my favorite.

Finished the book.
Finished the wine.
Learned enough about the auction that I have no business trying to bid.
Not sure whether I liked the cars or girls more confused.gif

It's past 9:30 and the year is done for me.

Happy New Year everyone

Rick

Cars are cheaper. Really.
Well, I'm stuffed so I'm going to try to let the food settle before I head to bed.
Happy New Year everyone!
