Have you ever wondered what happened to the cars you sold?

About a year and a half ago, I sold my 71 Ford for $1500 Canadian to a buyer in the Netherlands. Anyway, I was curious as to what happened to it, so with my investigation skillsbiggrin. I found it. The buyers that bought it had sold it to someone 2 months ago, they sold it to someone else in Europe for 4000 Euro eyepopping.gif And yes, it was the same car that I had sold.

Two cars that I sold, years apart I had people call me up out of the blue(years later) asking if I still owned them and if I would sell them. The cars? 1963 Corvette Coupe and 69 426 Charger R/T

A year ago I tracked down my 66 Grande Parisienne 427 speed I sold 20 years ago with help off this site. I sold it to Edmonton. It's in Ottawa. Not for sale.

I have no idea where my 427 TH400 66 Grande Parisienne went and it was only 30 miles from here! Good car too. Lame body, but power windows, air, tilt, tach, am/fm, reverb, power antenna, power trunk, power seat, reclining passenger seat, 12 bolt posi. If I could find it, even if the body is completely shot now it would sure be a great parts car.

Still wondering where my red 66 Nova SS 327 4 speed with fawn interior went. Last I saw a classic car place in southern Ontario had it in the old car trader. Looked familiar so I called and rattled off the VIN to the rather shocked salesman! I sold it in 88.

Also missing, a black (originally turqouise) 65 Canso Sport Deluxe that was my first car. Heard it was in Winnipeg 10 or so years ago in tough shape.

I remember this guy had a 69 Laurentian for sale in London(Not to sure) around 2 years ago 3500 certified too, I contacted him to go and see the car, but I didn't have enough money so I didn't end up going. I still have his email, I was going to email him a couple of months ago just to ask if he had still had it, but didn't as I figured it had to have been gone. I also have this other guys email to a pontiac I went to see 8 months ago, and I am sure he still didn't sell that one.

I've bought a couple of parts cars from older ads, never anything expensive.

I've made some good parts deals from real old ads. Best score of all was an NOS Super Duty 455 block out of the Buy and Sell in Winnipeg about 6 years ago. It was under $1000 for an NOS block!!!

It seems I have the same problem that my dad had. Every car, truck that I sold and loved was destroyed. I had a really nice 73 vette, 72 chev truck lowrider, 68 chev stepside short box, and a 81 Z-28 4spd that was hands down the tuffest car I have ever owned to this day. All gone.

Three of my old cars have been located. My 60 Catalina went to BC where it got pimped out (I wonder what the guy did with the MINT original interior..). My 58 Plymouth was on Kijiji a couple of months ago selling for $15k. I sold it for $5500 in 1999. The 66 Mustang I owned in 2003 is just outside of Ingersoll in a guys basement in pieces. I do have the VINs for all my other cars so it would just be a matter of spending the 20 bucks at the MTO for the used car package. I've thought about locating the 69 Coronet I used to have. It was an original paint Texas car..

Mike667 - tell me more about this 69 Parisienne. I don't remember seeing it for sale.

I sold my '68 442 convertible to a young guy that worked in demolition (explosives). He told me during the test drive that he had previously totalled his 2 prior cars.sniff.gif

Interesting stories guys!

Todd- The 1969 2 door Laurentian was for sale in either London or Hamilton, about 2-3 years ago. It was listed on kijiji. It was still cheap of price still. It was $3500 for sale and certified! it was green and had a 350 in it I believe. It looked good from pics, he would post in his ad no tire kickers. I know and remember it was a green with black vinyl roof 69 Laurentian and about $3500 certified. I was about 15 at the time, when I got a job and started working at getting a classic :), so I didn't have enough money to get it, I still wanted to see it, he told me no tire kickers but I would have picked it up for sure if I had that cash. Won't forget that ad!
I tried looking for his email again yesterday, but no luck, I had deleted a hole bunch of old emails, and his was in there. no

Ah yes, I remember that one. The seller failed to show the big dent in the passenger door. It was always conveniently out of view in the photos. I thought something looked strange with
the pass rear 1/4 and he finally admitted the door damage..

Ya, the pictures were only of the front, rear and drivers side/front and engine bay.
What about the floor and frame? How was it?
Do still have any of the photos or no?

Nothing i've owned previously has survived. Sold the 80 Parisienne, but that was 16 years ago, probably done for now. Otherwise all drove to the end or traded on another vehicle.

Ah yes-I love them coupes-I had a red on black 66 427/390 4-speed car, bought it out of Freelton in 1997 came there from Cambridge via Quebec 1974 now lives in Ohio. I later had a real nice black/black 327/350 4-speed from London area now residing in Beamsville, and a white 64 327/250 auto I bought in Carlislie last seen on Cambridge kijiji, and a project red/red 64 327/365 4-speed its in Toronto now-see the 64 project on kijiji @ $7500 ? mind you 65 and 66 were always my favorites-I do like 67's but thats always a given. My first was a 72 orange coupe 350 auto, then a 73 454 auto rag (orange) and presently for sale in Toronto, third was a black on grey 86 coupe later rolled by a car thief !, then a yellow 86 coupe with the 4 + 3 now in N.F., a 73 350 auto rag now in myrle beach, 72 blue roadster with 350 4-speed now in Virginia, a 71 454 auto coupe now in PA, had an 88 rag top now in Halifax (Forbes Chev) and a 61 that sat for many years now in Kentucky, most recent was a 76 yes a 76 but was it nice ! factory A/C and just 36,000 miles-it went to Dartmouth too ! I had one other 76 project that went to Calgary-nice guy Ed's project cars

all that and nothing to show for it ! ah, the kids are fed

When was the barrie market?
I had only just sold it in June 07.  When he bought the 67 in June 08, he said he still owned the 64 and enjoyed driving it.
I think he would have a tough time selling them for more than he paid.
Especially in todays market.

I ran into Calvin at the Barrie flea market in June. Struck up a conversation about a 69 Impala convt he had for sale back in Belleville. Turns out he's from west Newfoundland, but he's been in Ontario for many years. He had the beige 4 door 67 for sale there. Don't know if it sold, as I was only there on Friday.
