Big 10th Anniversary

Tomorrow apparently is the 10th anniversary of the greatest publicity the Canadian Army has ever received, you know back in 1999 being called in to Toronto to help shovel snow!

I have chosen to graphically represent why I think Torontonians needed this help and have no idea how to drive in winter conditions. Appropriately it is snowing today and trips that normally take 5 muniutes are taking 45 minutes once again!

I am impressed, at the manner, in which you chose, to show us the root of the problem...  inexperienced drivers from warm climates    I almost plied into one, sitting with no lights on, taking a test, this morn in Clinton...

Yes we have a high number of new Canadians who are not used to snowy conditions.

A local school crossing guard told me that the police stopped a driver and issued them a ticket because they had not cleaned the snow off of the car windows, just got in and turned on the wipers and off they went.

I even followed a Bentley in today with the same problem but it was worse because the tail lights were covered as well as the high mounted stop light. I let that car get way ahead.

You don't have to be in Toronto to have poor drivers and drivers who do not clean off their vehicles. I drove my wife to work this am because I didn't want her truck to be parked outside all day in -29C with a -39C wind chill factor. Half the vehicles on the road didn't have the windows and rear tail lights  cleaned off properly. You would have laughted when I fueled up after dropping my wife off and asked the girl at the gas bar for a car wash please. The look on her face was hilarious, she didn't say anything but I am sure she was thinking this guy is crazy washing his truck at -39C. I ran it through the car wash , drove it home and parked it in the garage with the radiant heater on.

Whenever I bring my brother in law to Toronto for his check ups I feel as if we are a minority with all the immigrants I see working in the hospitality industry, and the health care field.

There are hardly any immigrants on Prince Edward Island and yet we easily have the worst drivers in Canada!
