In Dash Factory Tach

I was looking at a 67 Beaumont, I was told it came from the factory with a 6 banger. What caught my eye was the in dash tach. I thought it was over kill for a 6. Does the tach signify anything special about the car. I havent verified the model of the car. Any thought? Thanks.

strange, but I'm sure it could have been ordered with any engine. Are you sure it was a factory tach ?

should say on spec sheet if a tach was available with a 6, for '65 tach was only available on V8s, U-16

Appears to be original, could have also been added after with a correct peice (i wonder if you got the credit for deleting the clock?) The dash itself looks in nice unrestored condition... is the car a hardtop, coupe or 4 door?

Left and right turn signal idiot lights as opposed to the single signal idiot lights on the '66.   Show off!

Here are pics of the tach I have...  anyone identify it?  It's quite faded and a bit worn, but does move freely.

Certainly not any tach from a Beaumont. Hmmmm.

It almost looks familiar but I can't quite figure it out.

No, I had one of those a few years ago. The markings on this one are a completely different style.

The face is similar but the back on the Impala unit is quite different as I recall.

Also, on the Impala, the "RPM" marking is different and it's on the lens on the Impala. On this one, it's on the tach face.

How big around is the housing?
Would it fit in one of the three pods in a 65 full size Pontiac?
