It was cold, it was snowin', it was blowin', so what else for 3 Canadian Poncho fanatics to do in the middle of winter than to hit the road to keep the spirit alive. 73SC, 65Camino and myself piled into Big Ray's trusty "nuclear powered" Suburban and headed down the QEW to visit CDNROUNPORT. Ian was a very hospitable host and still lets me on his property even though he has known me for 20 years.
We got a tour of the restoration facilities and Ian's fine collection of Pontiacs and endless more pictures that he has collected over the years. Even though the three of us put the full court press on Ray to buy the 66 Caddy we just couldn't quite get him to close the deal yet. He is buying more lottery tickets now though. Ray did pick up a new steering wheel for his Lemans and we now have 65Camino thinking seriously about adding a Poncho to his collection. I ended up adding another 70 Laurentian to the fleet (ironically built about a week or two before the Green Monster) although this one will end up being a donor car to all the 70's that are suddenly populating the site and making it currently the most popular year B body on CP!
And check out this gem from Ian's shop, someone has got to add this their garage:
