I guess I am a little stupid as how to post pictures

I have some pics of my frame on my Picture file on my own hardrive. How do I post them or should I from my own drive ? Do I have to sighn up for a photo storage service like Photo bucket ?  I feel stupid asking but I have never posted picures before.  I know how to scan a picture and E mail apicture from my own file but other than that I'm lost.

I use photobucket, its pretty easy, but it is looking messier with advertising now than it did. once you've uploaded on there you can resize them smaller for posting, and when you 'hover' over the image a link will pop up that you cut and paste the (IMG) line into your post... the line will look something like this, and will appear as the picture in your post. I didnt start off with any folders to organize, but now wish i did have more folders, just a suggestion...

In the reply or new topic work window, at the bottom click on the "Attach Image(s) check box.

File upload window appears.

Click on a "brouse" button.

Find the image or file on your PC from your choose file window. Click "open", location pastes into the file upload box.

Click the "Upload file(s)" button at the bottom of the file upload window.

The file appears in bold below the "Attach image(s)" box.

Click on the "insert" text.

File or picture moves onto the work pad.

Submit.

If you know the image URL from a website or picture host, simply cut and paste it's properties into the insert/edit image window/ image url box, then click on the "insert" button.(click on the little green tree icon in the toolbar).

Good luck, Cheers Mark.

By jove I think you've got it!

Now get signed up on a photohosting site, It's a great way to store and organize your images.
Flickr , $20 a year.

GOOD JOB handshake.gif  especially finding the "insert" spot..  It took me a year to find it..   Did you know? that AFTER you load a photo, to your Avatar section, you can copy and paste it , to your signature section..

There's also another way to post photos that you have stored on photobucket. Click on the little tree icon above the text window:
picscreen.jpg

I circled the tree icon in the above photo.

A new window will apear asking for the URL of your photo. You simply paste it in that window. There are also options in that window to resize, center etc the photo.

Hope this helps

Nice Car! And photos can be inserted in to the frame at their actual size as well.

cherry.JPG

When you attach a photo the photo will appear below the dialougue box as:

Attached:cherry.JPG[remove] [insert]

All you do then is place the cursor in the dialougue box where you want the photo and click [insert]
