1989 Pontiac Trans Am GTA $2500

89 GTA T-top. Red, gray leather. 5.7 TPI, automatic. 159,000 klms. Engine runs strong, trans shifts good. New fuel pump. Needs TLC.=Car needs front seats recovered, paint is faded, will polish up for "driver condition", front tires, exhaust work, etc. I have just spent more money on it. Tune up done, battery, etc.

That is a fun car! I had a 89 with 305 and 5spd. Not a rocket by any means, but it will make you grin. Any F-body has the F-un factor.

I searched Road & Track who did a test back in 1989 of the 5.7 auto, so it's about equal to the Cadillac in the real world.

ACCELERATION
Time to distance:
0-100 ft:.......... 3.3 sec
0-500 ft:.......... 8.4 sec
0-1320 ft:......... 15.5 sec
Speed (1/4 mile):.......... 90.1 mph
Time to Speed:
0-30 mph:.......... 2.6 sec
0-40 mph:.......... 3.7 sec
0-50 mph:.......... 5.3 sec
0-60 mph:.......... 7.1 sec
0-70 mph:.......... 9.6 sec
0-80 mph:.......... 12.3 sec
0-90 mph:.......... 15.4 sec

I agree, not a rocket ship, but a competent, fun car. I have 4 F-bodies, need to sell off at least one to make room for a Cadi.

The gta is a nice car but I need a hard top for the restoration of my race car. The gta probably had leather. I need greay cloth to be correct. A friend of mine has(still?) an 89? black on black 350 auto t tof that is in pretty good shape that he dosent want to part (he's a wrecker) It need's keys. It will run but the keys dont have the chip on them so it shuts down after .5 km. Nice car but not what I need.

A friend of mine has a '88 hardtop Firebird. It has a mint grey cloth interior, decent body, minus the doorpanels. It's just a v6 car. I don't know if that would work for you , but he will take $1200 for it. He will sell parts also.

Yeah, he has a few there eh Todd? Here's a pic of my '90 GTA that's at Scott's now. We need to put a steering column in it , and exhaust, some ground effect trim, parking light, tail light, etc, blah, blah, blah. Wasn't such a good deal after all!!

That's why it's a "hobby" Cause we woulden't want it any other way. Keeps us in the garage, away from the women! Looking forward to seeing Scott's place, thanks for the tip.
