In 1956 they became the (Body Special Options) BSO and were imprinted on a data plate on the firewall of 1956 and newer Pontiacs. These option numbers were also carried on for future years so they may pertain to 1958 and later. Check your data plates and compare.
There are also Accessories that were available both dealer installed and could be purchased by an individual and installed by someone else. In 1955there was both an Americian and Canadian Brochures. For 1956 I have seen only Americian Brochures. Some of the Accessories were for Canadian Cars only and some were specified for the Americian cars only. An example would be the lighted hood ornament was an americian accessory only but could be easily installed on a Canadian car. Another example for 1955 was the Front Fender Shields and Rocker Mouldings was specified for Canadian cars only. these were identical for the 1955 chevrolet.
