Our roads are total glare ice today

It's been raining since during the night. I heard of 3 different instances today of people lacing up their skates and being out on the street/highway with them. My normal 8-10 minute commute was 25 minutes this morning.

I staid home and told all my guys to take the day off. All I need is for some one to slip going into a job and file a compo claim

Some Ground Effects package or something? Apparently GM ships it to them, they stripe it, carbon fiber dash, I forget what else and then they ship it direct to the dealer. We just got it last week. I haven't checked it out yet. The stripe yells "Dodge" at me....

Should I order a few tons of road salt for you silly prairie guys? It may be corrosive but it does keep us out of the ditch.

I Agree, I had to look a second time, I thought it was a Dodge
Those are some nasty looking roads, We don't seem to get like that here, but I remember Ontario getting freezing rain and that was bad.

Its OK we know how to drive and don't have a 2 hour commute to work. From the looks of your the forecast you don't have any to spare

You should put on the hockey skates to get to work when the roads are like that.

In his autobiography, Gordie Howe  says that's how he got to school every day, strapped on the blades and skated there, Floral Sask.

Funny you say that. The kids that were off that day that exactly what they did to get around town. It was that bad out there.

My Dad is from a little village in Cape Breton-he always told us they would skate to school from Alder Point to Little Brador on the inlet of frozen water between Alder Point and Point Aconi-Well it was a better storey than the "I walked to school up hill both ways two miles everyday" that everyone else got.

Hey he also told us that they used to race their cars out there on the ice-the first time my mother was there-my uncle was racing a 55 Ford 2-door(T-bird V-8) on the ice-all the village folk would come out to watch !
