Another "Street Racer" caught red-handed!

This is just a disgrace:

OPP car seized, officer charged for 50 over

Feb 10, 2009 04:05 PM
Alex Cooper
Staff Reporter

An OPP officer has been charged under the province's street racing laws for speeding in her police vehicle while on duty.

The officer, driving an unmarked car, was stopped by Brant County OPP on Highway 403 going 165 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone.

"The subsequent investigation found that the officer was not within the lawful execution of her duties at the time," police said.

Det. Const. Heidi Fischer was charged with driving 50 km/hr or more over the posted speed limit.

Her licence was suspended for seven days and the OPP unmarked vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Fischer is a four-year member of the OPP posted to the Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau at General Headquarters in Orillia.

She will appear in Provincial Offences Court in Brantford on March 24.

The problem is, none of the officers charged so far seems to have been convicted, hmmm, co-incidence?  Or is it that they are giving the appearance of the law being applied equally to everyone without the officers ultimately facing the same consequences everyone else is.

There were already plenty of laws on the books to deal with the offences covered by sec. 172 of the HTA, this new section was completely unnecessary, the only difference is this section with it's $10,000 penalties allows for a massive tax grab by Premier McSquinty and his goon OPP chief, Benito Fantino.

Sounds like Det. Const. Heidi Fischer should act more like Heidi Fliess. She probably wouldn't have been charged.

All I can say is what the H is going on. What OPP officier in his right mind would actually charge an Intelligence Detective out of HQ. His a$s will be grass. There has to be more to this than meets the eye.

She must have PO'd somebody to get charged, Ray. I'm always on the 401 and quite often OPP's go by me in cruisers and unmarked way above 100 kph. Makes me jealous!!

I hear you Earl, Jr. worked with the OPP in his summer job as Park Warden and the boys even took care of him. What was she doing on the 403 if she's out of HQ Orillia?

Standing rule in a traffic stop, if someone gives you attitude, throw the book at them, if they are polite and courteous give them a break, I got this from the horse's mouth.

I don't understand how you RACE by yourself? Was she being timed? We used to have laws that called this wreckless driving.

It is plain old speeding and that is exactly what the existing Sec. 128 was designed to cover.  As I said before, the new "street racing" legislation has absolutely nothing to do with racing or safety for that matter, what is different is that it provides for huge fines to be levied, therefore it is just a giant tax grab.

.....plus a giant legal fees grab and giant insurance grab for the rest of your life.

I don't know if anyone has ever had the "pleasure" of speaking with our Provincial Police Chief but I have.....one of the most self righteous and self serving individuals I have ever encountered. No wonder he and Comrade  Miller never got along, there is no room big enough to accomodate those two egos!
