a 69 Beaumont bites the dust

On the front page of todays Winnipeg Free Press, two women in critical condition (very lucky to have survived!) launch their civic off a snowbank and fly straight into someones garage, landing on top of the guys 1969 Beaumont! Flattening the car, that he was only a few months away from giving to his daughter for her 16th birthday... no

he women are in critical, and had to resus'ed at the seen... crazy! this is a 60kmh zone, so to launch a civic through the air off a snowbank and land it in somones garage, they must have been moving! alcohol is not believed to be a factor...

sounds like the FP finally solved an age old question of who built the beaumont: "A 1969 Plymouth Beaumont, considered a classic among car buffs, was parked in the garage and was flattened." confuse

I hope someone backdates a appraisal for 100G    It would take the Myth Busters a week to launch a Civic anywhere... I am afraid I agree with the otherS, on removal of driver, and pass through a air vent... no Alcohol my butt...

AGREED! Don't think there would've been any survivors if they crash on my car!!!!
I got into it years back with about 4 guys (2 were fighting) outside a bar after it was closed. The problem was, everyone was gone and they were in the empty lot, my car was the only one there. They were fighting right in front of it(1958 Pathfinder). I called them all a bunch of names and they took exception to this. Long story short, I got a black eye from one of thier girlfriends who had to jump up to hit me while I was pounding her boyfriend...LOL Ah, the good old days....

Yeah, i don't think it would have too hard to get them thru the roof, there wasnt one left it got sheared off by the door header! They took a beating launching the car into the garage! They apparently used a defib. to kick start them... they are in critical... take a look at how the civic ended up on top of the beaumont, although i can't make out the beaumont at all in this pic!

How fast do you think they would have been going to launch into the air like that!!! luckily they didnt kill any innocent bystanders...

I can't believe there is a Beaumont any where under that!

That garage looks pretty rickety though, I'd get anything left of value out of there pronto, it looks like it is about to collapse.

From what i saw on the news(after the honda was extracted).  The car was under a car cover. it was still hard to see, but there was for sure a car covered in there.
If you look right beside the motorcycle you can see a dark grey car cover.

Anyone in Wpg know this guy?  wonder if it has been in storage for many years???

Wasn't me. Thank god.  I hope he has insurance on it.  I do not know how that would work with Autopac.

I have heard that Autopac only covers complete cars. I've been told that my car in dismantled state (even with storage policy on it) is not insured if I have a fire, for example and lose some of the parts.

I have not been able to find anyone who will insure the parts sitting on the shelf in the basement waiting to go back on the car. Sad to see that picture.........

So i guess that means you should store all your 327 parts in the back seat of the acadian.
That would technically be a "complete" car stillbiggrin

From what I understand Whetter, Oaklin Insurance will insure parts not yet installed on your classic car. Unfortunately I believe they only offer insurance to Ontario residents. I spoke to their rep at an autorama last year and he said his company was the only one he knew of that did this.

By the way, on a more serious note, one of the women in the Winnipeg crash have now passed away from her injuries.
