Front discs installed no problem, still have to rebuild rear OEM drums (hone cylinders etc.) and install proportioning valve and lines, but the engine compartment is begininnig to look full and I still have that Big Block to install (see below)

Dave

P.S. I apologize for the ratty looking fenderwell but I promise to clean/sand/paint when the 6 is out before the big 8 goes in smile.gif

Have you checked into the price of new cylinders vs honing? In some cases, it hardly pays to hone because the new ones are so cheap. I have not always had good success with honing also if the cylinders are too badly pitted.

Yes I did consider that, they are available new for about $25 each, but the old ones look pretty good so I am going to try honing them and using the repair kits, and avoid possible issues related to removing the old ones and hooking up lines, if that doesn't work I'll go with the new cylinders. As always, plans need to be modified if they don't fit reality smile.gif and of course it is good to have a backup plan.

Thanks for the input, that's one of the best things about this website and folks like you.

Dave

Carl, how do you get these nice full-size pictures to show? All I have been able to figure out is either (1) do the "attach image" when I add a post which takes the image from my computer's hard drive and then shows only a little picture unless someone clicks on it, or (2) upload to my website and then "insert image" from the http__________ address but which means I load up my internet provider allotted space?

I like your method better smile.gif

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave, Carl2 was assisted in that little trick by myself, via Mark (cdnpont). I too wondered how to get them larger and Mark assisted me. I see Carl2 makes alot of those attachments larger. He's a real pro at that now!!! There was a thread on this a ways back.......

Passing along the information, that's what it's all about, maybe years from now I'll be able to offer a hint to another newcomer smile.gif

Thanks to all who have been so helpful on this and many other topics!

Dave
