Very cool. Mentions the stripe package. Also neat how it says L34 is no longer available on Custom.

Oh, and rear cove moulding with black paint. There has been a lot of discussion on that as well.

I WAS ALLWAY'S UNDER THE IMPESSION THAT WHEN THAT BACK PANEL WAS BLACK THAT IT WAS A BIG BLOCK CAR.I'M PRETTY SURE I READ IT IN A HOT ROD MAG. YEARS AGO.THIS WAS ALLWAY'S TRUE FOR CAMARO AND CHEVELLE SO I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF WAS ALSO FOR BEAUMONT'S

Looks like you could get a sport deluxe with any engine early in the year and changed to 73800 series 396 only later in the year, similar to the chevelle Malibu SS.  Or could you get the 73600 series sport deluxe all year ?

736 sd's ended in approx. early December 1966. 738 with BBC only replaced the 736 sport option which could have been 283/327/396. The rear cove moulding was always painted black (imo) on both 736 and 738s, the actually sheet metal of the rear end was never black (like chevelles/camaros).
