Pics of the new 57'

A couple of people have asked me for pics.  So here is a few off of my cell phone when we were restrapping the car down at a gas station.

It has a 72' 350 in it out of a chevelle, and a TH350.  The rest of the car is pretty much stock.  Paint code is 2009 I believe, and its originally a 6cylinder car.  Interior is from another two cars.  Some of its black and silver, and some of its turquise.

The body is straight with pretty much no rust.  The floors are a mess.  Someone tried to repair them with sheetmetal, wood screws and tar.  It needs a complete floor pan to be right with all the butchery on the floor.  Maybe over the winter.

Plans right now are to put it together.  It will be getting a built 406sbc with a four speed, and ten bolt posi rear.   A disk brake conversion is in the works, and the interior is going to be changed to black and silver.

I might even paint the car black - its almost straight enough - just need to work out a few small dents and align the front end sheetmetal.

The car requires a lot of assembly right now.

nice car, looks in far better shape than mine was when i got it. Floor pan replacement is actually not that difficult nor pricey and is sure better than someone elses mess. I had just straight sheetmetal tarred over the old floor -- yuck!

The floor has been cut up for a shifter on the hump, and large chunks cut out and replaced poorly with sheetmetal held in with wood screws and tarred over. Its ugly.

The car does look like it was a factory red car. It now has a bad respray over it in a metalluc burgandy which I really don't like. If I get a bonus from work this year, I am just taking it right in and getting it sprayed black like my other 57' (which my friend has bought off of me now).

I am looking at a set of Halibrand small windows for the front and haven't decided on rear rims yet - maybe chrome reverse. I have a nova 10 bolt posi sitting there in the shop that I will probably be swapping in. I haven't decided on the stance for the car yet.
