I have enjoyed seeing photos of Sedan Deliveries on this site. I liked seeing the 57 S.D. bush find. 57 was one of my favorite Pontiac's but I have never come across one. Now that I am restoring a 55 Pontiac I felt that I could never tackle another restoration. I feel very fortunate to have come across this 57 S.D. but as I have an extensive restoration going now I didn't feel like I could handle another car. I went and looked at the vehicle and felt I must get it. The car was originally from Edmonton. I am looking forward to having some fun with this vehicle. Attached are a few photos of the vehicle.

Very nice sedan delivery. You are very lucky to find one. Now that you have two a 55 and the 57 who gets to drive the second one around ? Congratulations on your purchase !
'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
This is the Florida car. I saw an ad for it a couple of weeks ago so I called the owner and then flew down to look at it. I was very impressed with the car so we made a deal. This fellow was great offered to pick me up at the airport and I could stay at his house and he also offered me the use of one of his restored GMC. He is a real GMC fan and he has about 10- 1/2 trucks a couple of them were one of one - made by GM for a special purpose. A couple of interesting options in one of the trucks an air bladder under the driver and one for the passenger so you could set it for your comfort and the other option which I never heard of was an auto ashtray (maybe not the right term) it was a little chrome piece near the ignition and you would drop your cigarette ashes into and the vacuum would suck it out to the engine compartment where it would be deposited into a glass bottle. So he made it a very memorable trip. He also had a 53 Merc panel truck that he got from St Catherines, Ont.
He picked this Pontiac up in Edmonton about 12 or 13 years ago and drove it to Florida with out any problems and he said he would drive it to Canada without any hesitation. To be on the safe side I am having it trucked back.

I have to ask this question, when you originally bought your 55 s/d were your plans to install rear quarters from a 55 safari. I was talking to someone from the Ottawa area a couple of years ago at the Barrie Flea Market who had just bought a 55 sd from out west and that were his plans. Is it you?
I did buy my 55 from a fellow in Saskatoon and our plan was to put on new side panels which we did do.(we did not look at Safari panels) It was such a major job to redo this car. I bought the car by looking at a few pictures. The fellow doing my body work looked at them and said he would tackle the job. This is the 4th year and it proceeds slowly. I took some pictures today of the 55 and the majority of the body work is done. One encouraging thing was that we got the hydraulic clutch working and we were able to fire it up and drive it outside for the first time. It sounded great nice throaty sound. He tells me I will have it on the road this summer we'll see.

Al
That would be my buddy Fred, he still hasnt touched the car...it might be for sale ,I saw him in Moncton at the show last month, he has too many projects and doubted that he would ever get around to doing it. Its not a bad car except for the roof, its really bad, he got a 2nd roof for it but its not much better. I originally found the car but passed on it because of the roof. I was working on a 55 Chev delivery at the time and had to swap the roof on that for the same reasons...took me over 2 yrs to find a reasonable roof down near Harrisburg Pa.
Rick, there is a fellow Jay Hammond on TriFive that had a 55 CDN SD for sale at Syracuse last month, his email is jhchevyparts@aol.com. My name on TF is henrys57wagon, good luck on your search, Henry.
