She's gonna be fine, my Ponch '59...

Hey all,

I'm super pumped right now... I recently sold my '65 Laurentian so I could find something a little older, and yesterday I bought a 1959 Strato Chief 2-door w/ post... big pile of rust in the usual spots, needs floors, & the 261 that's in it should fire up once all the usual bits are rebuilt or replaced.

Typical of a car that spent 12 years in a farmer's field, and another 2 years in a driveway... but it IS 100% complete... no missing bits whatsoever... and it's never been in an accident.

I've definitely got my work cut out for me, but when it's all said & done it's going to be worth it...

As is expected... here are some before-pictures...

Nice, Saw it on KIJIJI, but didn't get a chance to go look at it. I may have a lead on some parts, depending on what you need. A friend of mine has a 4 door that hes in the process of stripping. Always coming across cars that aren't much good except for parts. I have a 60 4door thats being scrapped as well.

As far as little bits go I should be fine... I'm the 3rd owner and nobody's done a thing to 'er yet... but if your friend's gonna have any extra body panels, I'd be interested.

And my v-shaped trim piece at the back of the driver's side fin has a piece busted off, so I'm sure I'll need one of those.
