Four new photos added today to the reference post in the Library, the picture is getting clearer on the engine colours used, looks like three different shades of green so far.

Keeping this thread near the top. We need pics of 61 and 62 to complete the chronicle in the Library. When you guys are out a yards please keep this in mind. We have some really good information compiled, just need to fill in those last two years of production.
Regarding the six that Sportwagon400 posted of the 1960 261, is that an external canister-type oil filter I see on it? My understanding is that, at least in the case of the Chevy 235, is that the partial-flow oil filter appeared on the final year models (1962). Was the filter an option?
Another thing that I would expect is that 1961 was the last year for the oil bath air cleaner. For 1962 they switched the the paper element with the single snorkel.
I've seen a few 1962 Pontiacs with 261s over the years. I wish that I had pictures.
There was a Honduras Maroon 1962 Laurentian 4-door in Scarborough that I used to see around circa 1989/90.
In Hamilton around 1985 I saw a really nice survivor '62 Parisienne Sport Coupe in medium green metallic with a white 2-toned roof, clear plastic seat covers and some vintage auxilliary driving lights from the 1960s. The car appeared to have original paint. I haven't seen it since about 1986.
Come to think of it, when I was a little kid in Ancaster back in the 1960s there was a '62 Strato Chief 6 cylinder 4-door in my neighborhood. It got repainted in the late 1960s.
