finally!!

So the 59 is on the road officially. The wife and i went for a little cruise around our part of town and we got some thumbs up and some" cool car man" from people. It felt good to drive it. Needs a little tweaking but runs alright.

Nothing tweaks the the ego of a car nut who gets the thumbsup.gif on the first run of the year!! I get a kick out of the under 5 year old kids who say, "cool car man" as well!!! Say "thanks", smile and grin as you drive on past them!!
 Good show!!!!!

thanks guys. It is pretty neat when you see people just stop walking and stare as you drive by and its the best with kids, the look on their faces is pretty funny.

I likely won't make it until next weekend. I haven't even cleaned the car yet and it's a mess.

Cleaning it? are you supposed to? Ive only washed my car once when i first got it!! LOL mines a rat rod so i can get away with it and if i wash it the paint might come off!! see you next weekend then hopefully. I also have to grab another sticker from you to put on the other side of the car, maybe next weekend Todd.

I'll continue this topic, today we finally got our Pontiac back on the road after winter. There's only one problem or actually two. Wiper motor stopped to work hmm One mechanic said that fault is in one resistor and he could make a new one but we don't know what kind of resistor it should be  hmm  And another problem... Poncho has cast iron powerglide and kickdown rod is somehow unfastened. We've never had cast iron powerglide before so no idea how it should really be fastened. Still, someone said that it's very important that the rod is fastened correctly. Now we are not quire sure should we drive after all or not... if something breaks  confuse

Trevor did you go to cruise night last night? I still haven't got my insurance back on the car yet so it's still waiting to leave the driveway.

why yes i did. there was about 25 cars there, was a little cold, but still good to be at my first cruise in. The wife likes the car alot too so it makes it that much better. I will take a photo of my cast iron powerglide kickdown hookup for ya Lulu if you want. Mine is leaking a bit at the plug because its stipped and bacause its not a pan i have to re-tap it and get a new plug, what a pain!!

It will be the 78 bird. We are always on call and im driving that big red thing so i will get there quick, not poncho power but the cummins turbo works pretty good. I do hope it warms up, it should bring out some more rides.
