Sure looks legit, pretty hard to argue about the price too. It seems to have a 62 roofline as well. I've seen a Bonneville half 57 half 58 on the web captioned as executive car or something like that.

It is a fairly rare Laurentian 4dr HT (most 4dr HTs would be parisiennes)
It is the sister to the belair 4dr HT (again, most 4dr HTs would be Impalas)

Ray,  Thats the proper 61 4dr HT roofline.

so all it really has is a 62 front clip.

I see no "extra" trim as the seller states.  Also no V8 fender emblems for the "348"

Lastly (i might be wrong on this) but i think 348 cars had to be turboglides. Mr.409 would know.

Lets see the paperwork.

I expected to see a bat wing but then that would be a post sedan.  I think this car will paper out as a 61 because of the drivetrain he lists. If it is true about the Prime Minister then was the car Factory Shop Order or Dealer customized. confuse I have my 61 owners manual so I will check on the tranny...back soon.

61 owners manual does not match up transmissions with engines BUT there is a reference to downshift procedure as;

"Step hard on acceleartor for extra acceleration below 45 mph-V8, 40 mph-6 cyl. (Powerglide) and below 60 mph-(Turboglide)"

I was looking for the response that he was a former Prime Minister of Canada, anyone remember him? I wonder if he really did use his influence to aquire that car?

His Lester B's biggest claim to fame (in my eyes) is the inception/adoption of our current Canadian Flag in December 1964/January 1965.

I have an original, signed (by Pearson and the Queen) proclamation hanging in my cubicle ... I see it every day. All government offices got them in the 60's to frame and hang up.

Believe it or not, one government office I worked for was going to chuck it out in the garbage ... I rescued it.

I AM CANADIAN!

Of course I was just kidding Darryl. While the Flag is a great accomplishment the resume of the former Prime Minister is impressive and Canadian in every sense of the word. I think being the recipient of the Noble Prize is an important accomplishment as well.  Instead of talking about him here I included this popular link about him. CLICK HERE.

Wow...if you guys who don't know who Pearson is are serious, I feel old.cry.
I remember well when he left office also the day he died and I'm still a few years from 50!.

On the subject Poncho, judging by the 1/4's it's definately a '61 body w/ a '62 clip..
Who did it and the Pearson connection would take further effort to try and track down any info...the Vin, Cowl tag and GM Canada docs a great and inexpensive start!.

Could be as described - or it could be just a 61 to which someone added a 62 front clip.

Here's something to ponder......

The Kijiji ad claims it was custom built as a 1961-1/2 for Lester Pearson, but can any of you imagine any Leader of the Opposition getting a custom limo for his personal use?

Pearson served as Prime Minister between April 22, 1963 and April 19, 1968.

Hmmmmm. wink

Well he had a distinguished carreer prior to becoming PM, Noble Peace Prize and Ambassador to the US. Back then these posts were respected and would proivide someone with the status and respect to get a special car built in my opinion. Not saying it is true but certainly plausible.
