How many times can we say disgrace. The #1 Plant in production and quality and it's gone.

My office is two blocks from the site of the old GM Scarborough Truck and Van Plant which was closed years ago. There is a TTC bus yard and collection of big box stores theatres and restuatnats there now but the thing that irks me the most is that right there were there was once a huge sign saying General Motors Truck and Van Plant is a Toyota Dealership flying this 30'x100' Canadian Flag, right there where GM used to be.

Well, maybe lessons will be learned from all involved and a new emergence will occur

There's a line in the film Angels in the Outfield, kid looks at Tony Danza and says:

"Ya, you used to be somebody"

I think of that line every time we talk about the fall of GM.

As a testament to the folks who built trucks in Oshawa, they raffled off the truck and raised $90,000. The loaded GMC sold for $47.000 so they donated $43,000 to the Hospital for Sick Children. Just my opinion but I don't think the GM workers in Mexico donate any amount to anything.

Agreed, it's a sad day in Canadian Automotive manufacturing history when that plant closes.
