On the 69', it hooks on at the top of the clips and is pulled down and secured by two stamped steel pieces that hook and ride in the trims lower rolled lip. They wrap around right underneath the rocker. A single self tapping bolt goes through each piece into the rocker. One SS Phillips head screw passes through the trim into the front lower fender, into a "Floating" plastic grommet on the fender itself. Another at the rear straight into the rocker, just in front of the wheelwell.

I've had great replies regarding 67 and 69 fullsize cars, but I think my 68 is different from both.
On my 68, the SS moulding is folded over on the top and the bottom and has to catch clips on the top and bottom. The only mounting screws are on the extreme ends of moulding.
So, I'm still unsure how to get this over the clip ends on the bottom and top.
I can get it over one, obviously, but there doesn't seem to be enough give in the moulding or clips to pull it up or down over the opposite end of the clip.
I removed the pieces from a 68 Parisienne rag a few years ago. The mouldings are in my rafters, and I've got the multiple clips and 2 stamped steel pieces also in the garage. I'll take a closer look at the pieces on the weekend. (I didn't get the pieces from the wheel opening to rear bumper)
I don't know if this was the correct way to do this, but I ended up sliding the moulding onto the clips from the front of the car and back over the clips. The following pics show the clip without the moulding, the 2 channels in the moulding (top and bottom) and how I carefully and with a little "gentle" persuasion, guided the moulding over the clips until in the proper position.
Again, I'm not sure if this is the correct way, but it worked for me.
