You gotta love these Cadillacs. This is my buddy's car. Started out at $65,000 in Dec 95. My one good friend sold it to another good friend in Sept. '96 and he has kept ever since. It had extended warranty and Cadillac service only all it's lifespan and wasn't winter driven for the 1st 7-8 years. Had the tach swinging past 6,500 RPM on the 300 HP Northstar for about 4 secs. before it shifted, can't believe how a well built , properly maintained Cadi will still hold it together. Looks and performance wise. Well Ray, how do you like this old girl?
I'm not fussy on red cars but I RESPECT. Funny last night we had a lively "discussion" at dinner with daughter #1 and the BF both 22. They say GM is $h1T as a lot of their generation does. I cite my two Cadillacs, Fleetwood at 257,000 and Deville 194,000 as evidence to the contrary. They don't have a good come back.
PS. Oh ya and the way a N* revs is scary especiaslly if you are used to an old cast iron OHV V8, I wish more guys would drop these in street rods, 300 HP right out of the box, rev to 6400 easily with no fuss.

I've got a second '99 STS here with 320,500kms on it but it does need the Dreaded headgaskets done.
there is a guy south of Tillsonburg who does Nstar head gaskets exclusivley. A friend had his 01 DTS done and it works perfectly again. I can find out his contact info if you need it.
Had a 96 sts for the wife before the kiddies were born, never wanted it, but I had to drag her kicking and screaming out into a mini van after the babies were born! Never again will she question me on a car that I want her to drive!
