It has potential, interior looks cool with those diamond seats. In 69 a 396 had 265 HP and a 350 4 bbl had 300 HP. Which would you rather have?

Made the same week as my Beaumont date 5C.

350   300 hp  380 ft lb torque

396   265 hp  400 ft lb torque

Its close a horsepower to torque trade off. But then there is the engine weight issue.

I guess to be fair should be compared with the low  end 350.

350  255 hp  365 ft lb torque

396  265 hp  400 ft lb torque

here is were torque rule's !! and at a lower rpm 2000 verses 3200. A real stump  puller.

So a big block is a good choice for a Wagon or large 4 dr. Sedan.

NOT MINE

http://winnipeg.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1969-Pontiac-Grand-Parisienne-W0QQAdIdZ130370432

I am sad to say I have to sell my project car (new job with no time for projects....maybe later??).  My loss Your gain.  Anyhow its a '69 grand parisienne with 28458.6 original miles, a 350, automatic, 2 dr. bucket seats, console shifter, fender skirts, have some of the original documentation ie. pre delivery check list, protecto plate.  Car runs and drives but brakes need to be bled to work properly.  Also note:  On the drivers side the paint has peeled due to a fire across the back ally from me.  So if your a die hard pontiac guy looking for a good project car with lots of potential give me a call maybe we can work out a deal.  $2500.00 OBO

RE: Not a Big Block....But????

However do you guys remember that Youtube video of the 396 69 Impala I posted a few months back. It was an original road test. They weren't too happy with the performance of the 2bbl 396

Refresher:

My buddys mom had a 69 Grand Parisienne 4dr ht with a 396 2bbl, believe it or not, it seemed a complete slug compared to my lowly 2bbl 350 2+2.

Your 2+2 was a 2bbl? I thought the 300hp 350 4bbl was standard.

Years ago I parted a 70 2+2 350 2 barrel car. Green/green, buckets, console, 12 bolt posi.

I always thought too it was a bit sad to call it a 2+2 and then have no performance to back it up.
