Stratford 65 Beaumont

Hi all, new to the classic car thing.  My Dad was a huge car enthusiast and new everything there was to know about them, he owned a 1965 Acadian Beaumont that he adored.  He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2008 and died this past April.  Before he passed he told me that he wanted me to have the car. I was blessed with no knowledge about anything to do with cars. I will be doing the best I can (with some help from some of you I hope) to keep the car in the shape it is and add a few things that he told me he wanted, and will be taking to as many car shows as I can to show off his car and spread the word about fighting pancreatic cancer.  Thanks Mark.

Welcome aboard Mike. It was nice to meet you. Glad you were able to make it to the site. There is a huge pool of knowledge here! Feel free to ask any questions. That is one sweet Beaumont your dad had!

I lost both parents to cancer so I know what you went through.

Hey thanks Todd, great Picture!! Looks good to me, not sure if you were there or not but it won for best 60's classic!! Not sure if it was for the dedication for my dad or not but he deserved it!! Thanks again, Mark.

Welcome to the site Mark, Sorry to hear about your Dad.  You will be amazed at what you will learn about cars now that you have an old Canadian classic.

Mark,

That is one beautiful car. Much nicer than the equivalent year Chevelle/Mailbu. It's a great memory of your father.

this is the one he bought when it was a few months old from his boss ? I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. If this is the car I'm thinking, of its an incredible survivor 300 hp 4-speed with a 409 air cleaner-please don't paint it-their only original once

We were having that discussion yesterday about the engine, Dad bought the car in 1999 from a couple in St.Clements Ontario. I think the engine is a 327, 350 HP but I could be mistaken, thats what it says under the hood anyway!? I am looking for an original clock for the cluster in the dash and my dad wanted to put on some redline tires.....if anyone can lead me in the right direction let me know...Thanks again, Mark.

I bought my redline tires from Coker tire (www.cokertire.com). They are in the U.S so keep an eye on the exchange rates. I got mine when the CDN dollar was higher. Even with shipping etc it was cheaper than anyone could get here in Ontario. They offer bias ply and radial redlines.

must be a different car than I'm thinking of-still sure looks sweet. A 409 air cleaner and a 350hp 327 (L79) are very similar, suffix on the front of the block will decode it, GM Vintage documents should be aquired if you don't have them

Very nice car, even nicer that it was important to your Dad and he left it in your care. Thanks for posting.

67BBSD you are thinking of the dark blue with light blue interior Beaumont out of Hamilton/Stoney Creek area.

You've got a great way to remember your father there.
