so we left off with the VW that was still kind of slow, so ...
1968 Corvette convertible, 350 (not original) w/ 4-speed and Hurst shifter, factory side exhaust, custom silver pearl paint w/ black top/interior - after I ran into a deer on Wisconsin roads, I had a custom front end installed:
Ended up trading that Vette for the next car.
1967 Corvette convertible, 427/390 H.P. w/ close-ratio 4-speed, factory side exhaust, Marina blue w/ bright blue leather interior, factory air, PS/PB, rally wheels, I made this car 100% factory original (correct OEM carb, stainless steel braided spark plug wires, OEM spark plug wire looms, OEM distributor shield and grommets, etc. etc. etc.) - wonderful car but I got to be afraid to drive it for fear some a$$hole would run into it ... however before that happened, I bought this one too:
1965 Corvette roadster, fully prepared SCCA BP/GT-1, 355 full race motor w/ 4-speed, full roll cage, Corbeau seat, Thumper fender flares, etc., when I bought it as a roller it was plain white but we repainted it white w/ candy-apple red racing stripes, I added dry-sump, American 200S wheels, and lots more, only one photo here, I'll do another story elsewhere ... and to tow (you might have noticed that I pressed my Chevelle into duty for towing at the start -- hey, it's what I had, and certainly the chassis and power train could handle it) progressive upgrades:
1969 (later 1972) Oldsmobile Vistacruiser station wagon, 350 w/ auto - then, of course, a built-to-order trailer and REAL towing power, plus space for all the tools and equipment and spare parts you need at the track:
1977 GMC crew cab dually, 454 w/ auto and upgraded trailer for more tire storage - meanwhile, back on the home front, gotta have nice daily rides:
1984 Chrysler Laser turbo w/ 5-speed, and 1985 Corvette TPI w/ 4+3 speed, two-tone bronze, glass roof, later added BBS wheels - but wanted a ragtop daily driver so traded the Laser:
1986 Chrysler LeBaron convertible, red w/ white top & interior, not anywhere near hot rod material but sure was nice cruising in the winter months, but kind of a pussy ride so retired this from daily use (kept it for kids when they came to visit) and got a new daily driver -- to be continued
