Save more money, then build better later. If you can't wait, put money into the bottom end, and wait till you have more cash. It depends on how much time and how crazy you want to go.

the reason I set a 2000 limit is I can get a prebuilt 383 right now off a guy in the peg. or a 355 for 1750.

That's a pretty sweet package.
In the past, I've spent nearly 2G on getting a set of GM heads done.

Those top end kits are good value and HP  for the money. Was thinking of something like that for my 350. Would be even better on a 383. I am in the same problem as Icon. Not sure if I want a 355 or build a 383. Those 383 rotating assy are down in price and have more torque than the 355. What to do what to dohmm.gif

This post was number 454, do you think it trying to tell me something hmm.gif

I have another 350 I can use for crank rods ect, should keep the costs down. still up in the air if I leave it until fall I'll have more time( new 45,000 garage should be up and 4 post hoist ) will make this project alot more fun.
