I have a 350 sbc / TH 400 tranny ready to go into my 80 GP, was wondering about motor and tranny mount location as compared to my stock Pontiac 301. Same or different location? Any modifications required?

The trans will only fit if it has both patterns on the bellhousing. If it's the Buick/Olds/Pontiac pattern only, you will need to buy an adapter or find a different trans. If it has both sets of holes as some do, you are home free.

The motor mounts in your car will have to be changed to ones from a Chev powered car. Any G body, Monte Carlo, Malibu, El Camino will work. The TH400 will depend on what vehicle it came out of. There are different tailstock lengths which will affect the trans mount location as well as the length of your driveshaft.
