But, here's a salute to the veterans of WWII and their buddies who died in service to their country and the battle against tyranny. Thanks to them, we live a wonderful life.
65 years ago today. June 6, 1944.....the longest day.....D-Day.
There are two gentlemen in my Rotary Club that went ashore on D-day. It is my honour and pleasure to know them. Outstanding Canadians. Thank You Bill Phelan and Jack Embrey and to all who served.
They'll always be remembered for their sacrifices. I'm going to do my part to make sure my future child, and hopefully children, know of what they did for us.
My step-father served in the Canadian Army in WW2 and I had 3 uncles that served also. One killed in action, another lost an arm and the survivors all had some stories and memories that I grew up on. We have a lot to be thankful for. Our freedom.
Have an aunt and uncle that served and i said thanks every time i saw them. my uncle has passed but we are going to see my aunt in sept. when we go to New Brunswick. They are all heros and thanks just doesent seem enough.
