Can Am

I got some grief for not showing a photo of a mid 70's LeMans at a recent Wed night cruise. So on my way back from my daughters wedding in Spokane, Washington, I spot what looks to be a Can Am sitting at the side of the road in Idaho. I did a u-turn and took some photos.

That is ashame, so few were made too. Overall it seems to look like a great start.

The interior is full of parts and the shaker is there but sitting lower. I think the carb is off. It is sitting between Sand Point and Bonners Ferry in northern Idaho. There is a lot of iron sitting in yards and behind shops down there.

I am no Can Am expert but I believe that 'K" in the VIN denotes the 403 Olds engine and not the 400 Pontiac T/A engine which is a "Z".

The hood/shaker and wing are the prize pieces!.
The California Can-Ams had Oldsie 403's...and there's the John Hine San Diego Dealer tag on the back too..

The pieces are all inside the car, and the shaker is there sitting on the manifold. It might be a worthwhile project.

They are a rare car indeed. Love the shaker. Why can't it be close by in Ontario?
