Had a great time at the meet. It was good to see Trevor, Randy, Brad, Hillar, Brian, Keith and Chris! I hadn't been to that swap meet since about 1987. Boy, it's grown! I didn't buy anything however.
Todd
Good to see you again Todd. Trevor, Hillar, Brian, Keith and Chris great to meet all of you guys. Brad, honour to meet the resident CP celebrity
I suspect as more and more people get fed up with Barrie, this one will only get larger IF they stick to the rules of only allowing automotive related items there. How long did it take you to get there Hillar?

About 1.5 hours. I think I will be back in Sept. Might be a good opportunity to schedule an informal CP meet.

I like the signs Hillar BUT we know at least one of them is stolen, I don't think those King's Highway signs are in reproduction outside the MTO sign shop

Ray, Ray, Ray, let's not jump to conclusions too quickly. There were at least 3 vendors there today selling highway signs, and they all had lots of them, one even proudly displayed on his card that he was purveyor of these signs. I don't think they would be doing so if it meant risking incarceration.
If you look closely, you will see the sign in pretty banged up. I believe the province may actually have a policy of upgrading and replacing signs on occasion, whether they need it or not - I should know, the city just ripped up and replaced a perfectly good sidewalk in front of my house that had nothing wrong with it. Also the style has changed making these redundant, the current signs no longer have "The King's Highway" on them. I don't know why they made that change.

It was nice to meet all those guys I haven't been able to put a face to. A great day, sold some "stuff" and may vend again in September. Thanks to Randy, Hillar, Todd, Brian, Bob, Chris, Brian for stopping and chatting. Left at 2:30 arrived home and checked in with the Warden at 5. ARCADIAN Chris
65acadiantoplist: Yes, there was Mopar parts for sale. I saw a lot of Ford stuff too. I picked up a St.Clair Pkwy sign from that guy last year. The sign had a good bend in it which I straightened. Some day I'll mount it on the outside of my garage.

Hillar when I worked for the old Borough of East York we had three of each street name signs in stock at all times plus a ton of all traffic signs. Each ward had a roads supervispor and it was up to him to survey the traffic and name signs in his area. They were rotated on a pretty regular basis. Remember the good old days when employees took pride in working for the town, you never had to call in a sign missing report because it was already taken care of. Sure different in the mega City eh!
