Great story Todd and I never get tired of hearing it. I have a lot of fond memories of the cars that we had as I was growing up. I wish I had some a good story about the cars I have now. BTW. It's about time we saw the Laurentian at the top of the page.

Great car and great sentimental value Canadian Pontiac story ! I still remember being a kid in the sixties - early seventies and seeing Impalas and Parisiennes everywhere, they were the family cars of choice and Beaumonts were the true Canadian musclecar. Now don't we all wish we had a time machine to go back then ...
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your story and feel really lucky both my parents are still alive and doing well into their 80s. It is us the people on this site who are lucky you started Canadian Poncho as we have all spent many enjoyable hours here. Congratulations Todd on your 69 and thanks again for your time spent moderating this site.
THanks Todd for the story and congrats on the Feature Car ! Thats a great story & it seems this site is pretty dedicated to families and memories & thats cool by me. A lot of these cars were family wagons, my grampa had a green 69 that he bought new and when I see that big woodgrain dash I can still smell that car !!

I agree 100% - and you could add a little note at the end to the effect that "other great Canadian Pontiacs are featured each month for member's enjoyment" to help get to 2000

Thats sound like a good idea My car was featured, before the site, became so organized, and I have a cool story regarding, why I have a 20 ft long 4000 lb. Monster in my garage... LOL
Hey, Todd I was talking to one of Mark's high school buddies today-he says $5000 is way less than he spent ! every piece of chrome was NOS, bumpers,wheel openings, emblems (427) window fuzzies, side molds, rubbers etc.... he says the car has NO yes NO Bondo-where there was medal put he had someone fill with Lead ! he confirmed what Mark had said that the paint had those cracking/blistering issues thirty years ago-(maybe the lead?)
That's what I suspected. The chrome etc is way too nice to be original. As you may remember the weatherstrips are still nice and supple and have the part numbers molded into them. The car will be stripped to bare metal some day and repainted. You can see in the old photos of the car in bare metal an area that looks like it has been leaded. Thanks for the confirmation!

well the chrome was just purchased ten years after the car so its still at least 30 years old-these are likely real N.O.S. parts not a second/third or fourth production run-it sure was dry stored for many years.
The guy I was talking to said he seen it when I had it for sale and couldn't believe the great price-he said wow-I should buy it add a 2 + 2 stripe, 6 inch rallys with redlines and a big block ! Hmmm ! he really said that !
Everytime i see that car makes me think of when i was little and the pale green 68-69 Pontiac that lived on our street. I wasn't even 5 yet but i still remember that car. The only car i can remember besides my dad's, but it was a Mercury wagon, and the neighbour who gave me a ride in her 49 Ford.

1965 impala, 396 powerglide A/C, PS, PB California car that came here with the owners in the 70's-think about it-a 396 in a non SS (half year production) and A/C, numbers matching car-would this not be one of the very first 396/325 engines and how many across North America would have had A/C ?-its rare !
The story is Really what makes the cars different.My father always bought Chevs,one time I asked why not Pontiac? He said he didn't like the big Beaks that Pontiac always had! My '72 GTO is also Yellow with Green interior.
hi i got a ? for you when you installed your cd player in your tissue disspencer does your player skip when you driving along. i got one for my 40 th annivary present from my wife and every time i hit a bump it skips on my in the cd and am/fm radio also any ideas why it would do that.
