Power steering and brakes for my 67 Beamont

There's a guy locally that has a sbc power steering setup off a 67-68 (not sure) Impala. Just wondering if someone would know if this will fit properly on my car? It looks like it will fit OK. This includes the brackets, pump, and pulley. What you pay for this?

Also the guy I bought the car from emailed me, said he found a power front disk brake setup that he had purchased back in 86. Also wondering what you guys would pay for this.

Cheers

Kevin

Impala power steering set-up will not for your car-guaranteed-been there done that-it will not work. You need a 64-68 Chevelle small block power steering set-up,that is if you have a small block-big block is different again all together.

As for the disc brakes you can buy a new set of spindles, backing plates and caliper brackets aftermarket for about $150,all the other components are available at the parts stores re; calipers rotors bearings etc..If you are running factory 14" wheels the aftermarket brakes will rub,but they work fine with 15" rallies etc..

Are you looking for originality? If you are buying an aftermarket brake setup consider a smaller diameter booster (than the factory one) if you are ever thinking of a BBC swap, it will allow you to use tall valve covers... smaller ones are more common in the kits anyways...

also if you are more interested in improving than originality then consider 1992 1/2 thru 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee or the 1988 thru 1996 Caprice fast ratio (12.7:1) gears... i have a stock setup, but apparently people like the road feel they get from these other setups... TeamChevelle is a great resource for swap info.... there's also info on there on how to re-use and modify your stock spindles for a disc brake conversion...pretty easy....

John, are the brackets different from the impala, or the steering box/pitman arm as well? I think i have a steering box from a 70 impala in mine...

I have a brand new brake booster and master cylinder for a factory disc brake Chevelle/Beaumont in the box. Can send a pic ?? My Camino has a converted GM 12 inch disc brake setup and it works slick.

I was hoping the Impala setup would work. I was only going to use the brackets and pump off the Impala. For the steering box I've been reading about guys using a S10 box (S10 pickup equipped with the ZQ8 performance suspension package) ak talked about using a Jeep or Caprice box. So there's lots of ways to do it.

For the brakes, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Going to wait and see what the old owner has to offer.

Thanks to everyone for their input.

Trueconnections in riverside california has the 2 P/S brackets you need.  They are about the only ones selling the correct brackets.  also the lower alternator bracket is unique too and needs to be used in conjunction with the P/S brackets.

All 3 brackets are avail from them, and really good.  i think about 20 or so each.
i bought a set and am very happy
