'52 sedan delivery

Just traded my 66 acadian canso for a 52 sedan delivery but don't know a thing about it. Drove a 54 chev s/d for 16 years prior. My new old 52 had been customized about 100 years ago so I don't know what is original or not. Have a million questions but for now could someone explain my codes. (They may have been changed too) Model 2271   Serial # 2227137055   Engine #W213671    Trim 416    Serial 2017  and paint 253   Thanx!

Welcome! Here's what I can glean from my old parts manual:

Model 2271 = sedan delivery (so the plate has probably not been changed)

serial number:
1st digit 2 = 1952
next 4 digits 2271 = model number = sedan delivery, 6 cylinder motor
last 5 digits 37055 = if similar to others (like my 1956) means number 37055 off the assembly line

engine - should match the number stamped on the block

Trim and paint - I don't know

Serial = if similar to others (like my 1956) means number 2017 of sedan deliveries off the assembly line

Dave
