Hi guys I've been tryinng to talk my brother into parting with a few of his cars that he really doesn't have plans for. One of his is a 53 Canadian Pontiac 2 door hardtop. He was mulling over the idea to convert it to a 53 Chev hardtop but I kind of talked him out of it I think the Pontiac hardtops are probably scarcer. It hasn't been licensed for about 20 years but has run in the last few. Unfortunately he reported to me with a stricken face the other day that he can't turn it over with the fan anymore. I usually follow this forum in the 65-70 section so I'm not aware if these are particularly rare or what. It has no grille on it right now as a result of some showing off with a bad result some years ago but I believe he has all the pieces to put it back together. I also think the floor is shot but the rest seems pretty solid. I'll try to snap some pictures and post them if you guys might be interested.
I also have a 53 Pontiac 2 door sedan that I have no plans for either.....
Heres the thing, eh? My brother has a bugger of a time getting rid of anything. On the other hand even he knows he has too many cars. He gave me permission to just see how much interest there is in this thing. I'm not sure we're even talking sale yet.
It used to be quite a nice driver. He swapped in a rebuilt 261 from a 61 pontiac, found an old twin one barrel Edelbrock manifold and a set of headers along with an open drive conversion and a 4 speed and a set of headers with dual exhaust. It used to sound really neat! Had a bit of chrome too. The two one barrels tended to run kind of rich so it has the single on it again now
It wasn't very rusty when he drove it back in about 82 but sitting hasn't helped it as you can see.
He has all the trim to replace the missing grille.
(Could somebody help me reformat these pics. I don't feel like uploading them again.)
