headliner or windlace

well Having never done either before, what should be the sequence headliner or windlace first, both look like a challenge for sure, especially that strip with the big teeth I think both have to go behind that

thanks bill

whatever you do, don't mix the headliner bow, they are not all the same. I use a cardbox, write front and rear, splice the top and place the bow into the box to make sure no mix will appear.

It's nearly easy to do, I have some picture if you need.

good luck.

Fitz.

No worries there Fitz, they are still in the old liner and will be removed, cleaned up and reinstalled one at a time, I have heard of people getting them mixed up, hopefully doing them one at a time will prevent any screw ups lol

just had the head liner done in my 66 belair, the windlace went in first it had to be
hammered into the tack strip that ran the outer perimeter of the roof and pillers, then
the headliner went in afterwards. i was told the headliner installed first would not allow
the little tack hammer to make contact with the windlace properly if the order was reversed.
not sure they are all the same, but similar i would think.

On some cars the windlace is stiched to the headliner. For my 54 the headliner will be preswen to parts of the windlace and then installed into the car at the same time.
