Nothing but coffee and R & R. Good for the soul. It sure would have helped to see some 25 or higher temps though. What did you Ontario guys do with all the heat?

That sunset is truly beautiful Carl, that is what Canadian summers are all about.
I for one have no complaints whatsoever about the summer, well, maybe a little too much rain on the weekends, but on the whole, highs in TO this summer have been in the 24-27 range each day. What more do people want? I have no use whatsoever for mid 30's with sticky humidity. People here should be thanking their lucky stars we didn't have those kind of temps for that would have made the garbage strike that much worse. It cools off nicely each evening to the mid teens making for perfect sleeping weather. I still have not turned on the A/C once in the house and the way things are going it looks like I will make it through the whole summer without doing so, something that has never happened before in my adult life. That translates into massive hydro savings.

Oh wow, hail? That sucks. We haven't had to worry about hail this year. We don't have any heat!
And yes, agreed. That view is easily worth the price of admission and it happens often. It looked like a forest fire the night before we came home. The sky was amazing.

I know you guys have great winters in BC but a couple of people have told me now what it costs to have that kind of lake view in BC. Sorry, I could never have afforded to do that in only one lifetime of wage earning. The Albertans and BC'ers tell me that Northwest Ontario lake properties are a steal.

Property like that in my area would be in the 400,000 and up depending on the building size. My buddy had a house on a lake close to wear I live, 60ft of lakefront and it just sold recently for over 800,000. Oh and last winter out here was a cold -18 for a low, not used to that either, LOL.
800,000? Ouch! We have more than double that for frontage for 20% of the price!
That is what I had heard though. 2 different people told me you are lucky to get near the water (on a nice lake) for under a half million.
The lake we are on is perfectly clear. My brother from Creston BC was out with us and he said our lake is as nice as any mountain lake and cleaner than some of them. To me, that clear water that looks like it is out of a tap is worth a lot.
