VIN number verification

I have a friend who has a Boss 351 Mustang.  It now appears that there was some bamboozling when he bought the car in 2005.

It is a 1 Jan 1972 first registration date. (Fishy Public Holiday)
VIN: F2F05H1B6904F  COULD BE: F2F05H186904F
Engine No: ZA02X

Can somebody please assist in helping me getting the real info?
This friend is absolutely flattend!

Boss 302's were 69/70 cars only..
If the Vin is 2F05H1B6904F and a '72 car here's the decode..
If that's not the Vin, run the correct one as the Warranty # using the site below..

Warranty Number: 2F05H1B6904F

Year: 21972
Plant: FDearborn, MI
Body Series: 05SportsRoof, Mach 1
Engine: H351 2v V8
Unit: 1B69041B6904

Thanks Pete,
Went to the site and entered the 72 VIN and it is not a BOSS 351, It is a Sportsroof, Mach 1 with a 351 2v V8 and not a 351 4v V8! My mate is going to be highly upset!
This Mustang has been cloned!

Johann...

Sorry if your friend was in some way duped but most Rustang enthusiasts are aware that the Boss 302 cars were 69 & 70 only..

Always keep in mind that 60's/70's Fords, Mopars and 72 & newer GM cars have Vin engine digits to check..

At least it's a Mach-1!.

A company in the US has all the production data for Mustang from 67 up. Google - Marti Report.
This is very similar to the Canadian GM Vintage Vehicle Service.
