I have a brand new 1110232 distributer that I bought believing it to be for a 1950 pontiac flathead six, but my book says it should be a 1110209 what would the diference be, someone told me the new one was for an automatic tranny and trying, to find out anything on these old units on the web is tough why would the transmission affect the distributer ???
In a pinch if the one on the car is snafu'd could I just switch the vac control over if not it will be sold, has everything there including points and condenser
The weights can also be different, if they have them in that dist, Henry.

there are weights, but in both cases they are for the same engine, so they should be similar, there is nothing much in the manual other than saying the weights are there
so can the vaccum unit be easily changed over. right now I dont even know if the engine runs, as I am waiting on the carb coming back from rebuild, if it runs then there is no need to worry about the distributer, its just one of the many parts I have bought as potential's like what might I need
