Hello all Was at a car show on Saturday in Sylvan Lake, AB. Driving around was a 69 2+2 rag, red with white top, & white guts. It finally parked close to where I was, Had a closer inspection, it had 427 emblem with console & automatic. Was it real, I`m not sure. Wasn`t smart enough to take my camera to the car show, so I didn`t get any pictures, (stupid me). Had manitoba plates on it. Body was faded, & had what looked like bondo cracking in a few places. Not sure if anybody from this site was at the car show & got any pictures or not. Maybe we should put a all points bullentin on the trans canada highway & watch for it. Thought I`d share it with all you CDN pontaic nuts. Darcy
Like I said, not sure if it was a real 427 car, but sure got mine & another gentlemens attention. Like he said, if it is real, it's rare as hens teeth. I agree. Thought maybe somebody from this board was at the show & got a picture of that beast. Have a sunny day.
There was about a 100 cars or so. Was a little cool in the AM, but was a nice afternoon. Always nice scenery at the lake when it's nice. The cars of course !! Hope to see you around Red Deer for a Thursday night cruise. If Gerry from Kipps is there, he can point me out. Cheers
Darcy; It would be great to meet you sometime. I know Gerry really well too, he's a great guy, I will try to hook up some Thursday nite. I showed up with the Camino once but it was pretty late & most the cars had left .
Carl - yes, I think you are correct on the asking price - it was in Canada somewhere, posted for sale a few years ago - probably too far gone to restore, but a great 4 speed parts car - I think it had the 454/390HP engine option
If we can get a data tag from a 427 M20 car we can send away for the documents like we did on the SS427 Impala. That would give us all the production numbers/
Yeah, when I have some time I'll put it up on 1969Pontiac.com with the others. I've had to start watermarking everything because so much of the content I've taken the time to assemble and scan just gets copied onto other people's sites.
Similarly, I have the entire 65-70 Parts Book (every part for every Canadian Pontiac from 65 through 70), but I've got to figure out the watermark feature in Acrobat, which I haven't yet.
There are a lot more consumers than producers (ie: people who post about some amazing thing they just saw, some rare car, etc, but no photo) so I'm not in a big rush
