I'm from Brasilia, Brazil and I am currently restoring a '59 Parisienne. It's supposed to be the only one left in my country! I hope I can learn a lot about my car here, because it's really difficult to find information and parts about it, here in Brazil! This car was originally painted in the color "Crystal green" with white roof. Some pictures of it before and as it is now:

Wow, that's a big project in more than 1 way. Welcome aboard. A friend has a 4 dr hdtp 59 Catalina, all green, so I can picture what yours will look like when your finished. Good luck with it. Ted
Check out the palm trees in the background. I vote that Giovanni gets to host the first ever Canadian Pontiac annual meeting scheduled for January 2010.

finally another 59!!! love the car and they are big!! Also check out www.pontiac-59 for more info on the 59s. Its a really hard car to get parts for but worth it in the end, they are a blast to drive and its really neat when your the only one with one at the car shows. Im moving down to mexico (lake chappala) in a couple of years so if i bring my 59 with me we should keep in touch!!

Thanks guys!
I'll send a photo of the tag later, to put my car in the registry.
This car has an interesting story... It was owned by the same person for around 30 years... Then the owner died, the car was kind of abandoned in the street and stayed there for more than 5 years, until the family decided to sell it.
I contacted GM Canada and got this letter, with some info about my car!
It seems export Pontiacs were only available with the 261-6cyl engine, which makes easier to rebuild it, since there were brazilian Chevrolets with this same engine.
You should imagine how rare is a Canadian Pontiac here... This year, in the biggest antique car show of Brazil (I don't know if this is the correct word for it), there were only 3 Pontiacs and none of them Canadian.

Although there is a palm tree in the background, I live around 1500 kilometers away from the nearest beach! By the way, in Canada do you use Miles or Kilometers?
that miles and kilometers thing got me the first time i drove the car to work and i was going down wellington( a main street through London to the highway) at 7 in the morning and i was going 75 which i know is fast but then it dawned on me that i was going 75 mph!! OOPS!!
