So i spoke to a manager and he said he will send me the proof i was late. I told he if you posted it late it will show late that proves nothing i want to see when you received it. Now by this time I had looked up who issuse the card. G E MONEY BANK. Yes that GE we bring good things to light. If you look them up you will find they have many complaint about this problem. Even if you pay on line the day it is due you are 1 day late WTF? I sent my payment out July 27th they posted it Aug. 12th. Anyway if you look on the back of your cards and see any form of GE or their logo be wary .

Simple solution, eliminate Lowe's card, just put it on your VISA. I can't stand carrying around all that extra plastic, what are the benefits of any store cards, if any, anyway?

This is typical from GE. GE is a huge financing company. One arm hands out credit like drunken sailors then the next arm tries to collect like Gustapo. It is a common MO in the finance world, hand our credit in good times, drop the hammer in bad.

I pay my bills on line 2 days in advance of the due date and I have never had a problem. You have electronic proof of when the bill was paid and 2 business days is more than enough time for the funds to "clear", at least in Canada. If Lowe's tried to do that to me, I would just pay the balance (less the finance charges) walk into the store, cut the card up in front of a customer service rep, politely say "FY" tell them all my future business is going to Home Depot and walk away.

Hillar, I noticed that Toronto Hydro has put a warning on on-line bank payment that it takes 7 to 10 days to clear. Another fine example of a beauracracy gone mad. That is just complete BS. I know for our organization we get bank payments in 99% of cases very next day. Can't believe that mega dollar Hydro can't process next day but that's what they say on their billing.

We all know that is absolute BS Ray and I don't think it would very difficult to prove in court that money withdrawn from your account could be shown from bank records to be deposited in Toronto Hydro's account within 2 days. I'm sure it is just part of a larger directive from Comrade Miller to squeeze more money out of his captive citizens through late payment fees, not unlike Lowe's.

I do online with my visa. I tried that with gemb and they told me they don't work with my bank so i kept checks just for this card. I Had a chevron card till yesterday when i looked at the back and there was the good old GE logo. I am lucky i am not in a bad way so i paid off the lowes and chevron cards and closed both. I got a call from gemb today questioning why i dropped them. I told DUH G what happened His response was oh i can take care of that it won't affect you it was an error on our part. You think really 2 cards 1 is late three times in a row the other i found out was posted on the 30th 3 days after i sent them both in. I talked to my boss about this and he said close it too. WE now will go thru a local company. Gemb does a lot with store cards so if you have 1 you may be next. Sorry i am done ranting. ViVA METALLICA dec 12 SAN JOSE just got my tickets!
